Wild Rift 2.2 Patch to introduce ARAM, Battle Pass and more

Riot is continuing to pump out content for their mobile League of Legends, Wild Rift. The upcoming Patch 2.2 will have plenty of new content for mobile fans as the developers revealed in a video preview.

Wild Pass

Named “Wild Pass” one of the key features of the new patch will be a Battle Pass for Wild Rift. Players will be able to unlock plenty of cosmetic rewards and currency through playing and fulfilling challenges. At the end of 50 levels players can get their hands on an exclusive Jax skin. While you can earn the rewards just by playing, you need to upgrade your pass using Wild Cores to actually collect the loot in the Wild Pass. Otherwise you will only earn blue motes and poro coins.

Riot will also offer a “Wild Pass Elite” that increases your leveling rate through bonuzs missions and five free levels upon purchase.

Position system for ranked

Another key feature of the Patch is a reworked system for playing ranked. Players will be able to rank their preference for playing specific roles.

The matchmaker will then assign you a role based on your settings. For players not manually setting up their ranking, the system will browse the match history to determine the most played roles accordingly. This should make the ranked matchmaking experience better once it is rolled out to all players after an initial testing phase.

ARAM headed to Wild Rift

ARAM has become an extremely popular game mode in the PC version of League of Legends and thus it was only a question of time until Riot would port it over to Wild Rift. For now the developers will only introduce ARAM as a limited time mode. Reasoning behind the timelimit is the opinion that ARAM will have balance issues on release which the developers hope to get rid off during this initial rollout before adding more features.

Besides these large changes the new patch will of course bring over more champions such as Galio or Rammus, while also changing gameplay and more. The patch is scheduled to release on March 30, one day after the North American servers for Wild Rift finally open.
