What we know so far about Mauer Der Toten – The newest Zombies map in Cold War

With the newest zombies map coming on July 15, let’s take a look at the gameplay and the new things we can expect on release.
General info

Mauer Der Toten is the newest Zombies map coming to Call of Duty Cold War and is a return to form for the series, going back to a more traditional approach to the zombies format. The map will feature a round-based system and is coming to the game on July 15 alongside the midseason patch for the game. Not much info is available as of yet, but we did get an early gameplay trailer already

The comeback of a classic perk

A classic perk will be making a comeback and it was teased brilliantly by Treyarch during July 4, where they shared an image of the Mule Kick soda. Mule Kick is a classic perk in zombies which allows the player to fully gear up, carrying up to three weapons at a time. While we don’t know a lot about the perk and its availability within the game yet, Treyarch has already said there’ll be five more Skill Tier upgrades for the perk.

New Wonder Weapons and gadgets

We’re getting multiple new guns and gadgets to use when fighting zombies once Mauer Der Toten drops and they were already teased to us in the form of blueprints a couple of days ago. One of those gadgets is some kind of portal device that players will be able to use to navigate and teleport around the map, called the LT53 Kazimir. The device will also be able to send enemies to the Dark Aether, so it’s not limited to the players.

We also got a look at the Conversion-Ready Binary Repeater Standard (CRBR-S) which will bring a lot of flexibility to the playing field. The gun will be a handgun in its base form but can be upgraded and boosted to reach an entirely new level in the form of an energy-based weapon or more shotgun-like weapon. It even looks like it can be transformed into some sort of sniper. There’s not much information yet as we have to go off of the blueprints, but it’s an exciting addition to the game.

A new zombies meta

The zombies meta will also go through some changes as Treyarch is altering and tweaking everything with the patch to make sure everything is balanced. These changes include a reduction to enemy health caps (for Zombies, Specials, Elites and more), reduction of armor of Medium and Heavy zombies by 30% and buffs to multiple weapons such as the sniper and melee weapon pack-a-punch. Equipment damage will also scale starting with the new patch and be more consistent.

Finally there’s the Dynamic Wall Buys that will be making their way into the game. When players buy a weapon from this wall there’s a chance it’ll become more rare every five rounds, which could certainly help you out in a pinch.
