What is the best sensitivity to play VALORANT?

Deciding what sensitivity you should use in VALORANT has always been a, forgive the wordplay, sensitive subject. Sensitivity is one of the most crucial parts of playing an FPS, but it’s also one of the most subjective decisions one can make in the game. Let’s first quickly dispel a myth: there is no perfect sensitivity. Sites that claim that they have some form of perfect sensitivity calculator are just wrong. That’s because whatever works best for you, that’s the perfect sensitivity. So how do we figure out what works?

Know your role

First off, you have to know your role. Are you someone who prefers long range duels, perhaps with a sniper rifle, as opposed to in-your-face-gaming? Then a lower sensitivity might be better for you. It will allow you to be more precise in aiming, as the odds of flicking over a small model will be dampened. Opposite that is of course the player who always runs in. In that case, you’re going to take close fights, so a high sensitivity to react quickly might be better.

Listen to your body

At some point, a sensitivity will just feel ‘right’ to you. If you find that you are fulfilling your role and you don’t overshoot your target or draw up too short in most duels, then that’s a good sensitivity for you. Listen to what your body tells you and don’t forget to…

Adapt if necessary

Sometimes our brain tricks us into needing change. Try and figure out when a sensitivity isn’t working for you, and when you are just hitting a slump and no change except time is required. If a sensitivity has worked for you for a long time, and suddenly stops working, don’t worry. You are probably hitting a slump. Just give it time, and you’ll be back to clicking heads in no time.
