Warzone sequel might be hitting the shelves in 2023

The news came in the form of a report by Bloomberg, who say that Activision is actively pushing a new version of Call of Duty Warzone, which is likely to see a release in 2023. While new versions of Call of Duty every year have become a staple, it’d be the first sequel for the Warzone games. The game would be a brand new experience and not just some DLC or additional content being added on.

Details on the new game are scarce and not much is known about the direction Activision is going to take Warzone, but odds are that the game will be catering towards the next-gen consoles and leaving the previous generation behind. Developing a brand new game also opens a few doors for the developers, who can finally integrate some ideas that would require an overhaul of the systems currently in place in Warzone, which is much more difficult to do.

Warzone has been great for Activision by far and it’s played by many players all over the world. Recently the game has been plagued by bugs and hackers once more however, and streamers and players alike have been putting forward some criticism. It’ll be interesting to see which direction Activision will take the sequel and if the game will suffer the same issues the current iteration has.
