Warzone Season 3 – Things that still need to be fixed

Since the release of Cold War Season 3 Warzone is finally fun again. A completely reworked map, decent weapon balancing and developers, that communicate much more active make for a much happier community. Warzone most certainly is in the best place it has been since Cold War’s release.

But there are still some aspects where the game could be better. The first of those is definitely the never-ending stream of cheaters in Warzone. Unfortunately that is the hazard of going Free-to-Play, as you either have very invasive anti-cheat tools or a high number of dishonest players.

But the developers are working on it. the number of banned accounts regularily rises and Activision is even issuing hardware bans now. The cheating problem is still here, but there are clear signs of improvement since Season 2. We are definitly on the right way here.

There are still unfair strategies

The new season has also finally reworked the Roze skin that has been haunting players since release. But instead of changing the color, the developers decided to increase the rate at which it reflects light. If you are willing to camp in a dark corner for the majority of the round, you are still hard to actually spot.

A post on Reddit neatly summarizes the issue:
“You drop in to your favorite spot. You have what will likely be your only exciting gunfights in the entire match. (…) Have fun checking literally every corner of every room and building you enter because chances are, a guy in a Roze skin will be hiding in a bathroom pre-aiming the doorway with his ground loot grey bizon after staring at his heartbeat sensor for the past 5 minutes.”

Another major problem in Solo matches are players that only ride their trucks towards the end of a round. They just circle the edge of the zone unhindered as it is difficult to hit them while moving and the trucks are too tanky to be taken out by a single player.

The meta is also still in need of some fixing. The CR-56 AMAX is dominating the game, but at least here the developers promised a quick fix. So all in all Warzone is in a decent place, but could still use a couple of improvements. Should these be tackled in a timely manner, we are in for the most enjoyable season until now.
