Vitality caught with BLAST Premier livestream in background during match

In a reddit thread and on social media some people discovered there was an active livestream open in the background of Team Vitality while playing in the BLAST Premier Global Finals 2020.

Yesterday Team Vitality took on Team Liquid in the upper bracket semi finals of the BLAST Premier Global finals 2020. They’d go on to win a closely contested match on Nuke with 16-14 followed by a 16-11 on Vertigo to reach the upper bracket finals. Now some people noticed that Vitality had the event livestream open in the background, raising questions about fair play and pointing out it gives them an unfair advantage when abused despite the built-in delay.

The ESIC (Esports Integrity Commission) has already spoken out about stream-sniping following reports of it happening way back in December following ‘numerous allegations’. In a statement, they talked about punishing offending teams. “We are closing all current investigations without prosecution (before December 2020) and reiterating that any violation of this rule from today onwards will be prosecuted vigorously and the maximum available sanction sought if the player, coach or team is found guilty.”

The ESIC has not commented on the current allegations against Vitality yet, but if their earlier statements are to be believed chances are that Vitality will possibly face a fine or further consequences.
