Virtus.pro and ENCE secure a spot in the PGL Stockholm Major 2021 Legends Stage

Virtus.pro and ENCE became the latest teams to escape to the Legends stage in day three of the PGL Stockholm Major. Virtus.pro recovered from their loss yesterday with a resounding win over their domestic rivals, Spirit. ENCE carried on a two game winning streak and secured their spot after downing BIG.

Now that these two teams have advanced, only six more teams remain to compete over two remaining spots. Tomorrow will mark the last day of games, and stakes for these teams to continue their seasons could not be higher.

Can Virtus.pro make waves at the Major?

Virtus.pro is a storied organization in CS:GO history. The teams started off strong in 2021, leading the charge for the CIS takeover that has characterized much of the online CS era. The team has struggled to maintain their high skill potential, though have another shot in the PGL Major.

Their 2-1 win against Spirit saw all players perform incredibly well, as all five members finished with positive K/Ds and +70% KASTs. Qikert led the charge for VP, finding 88 ADR off of 69 total frags.

Locked in for the Major main event, Virtus.pro are far from favorites to win the whole tournament. If they can rekindle the strength they have sporadically shown though, they could be a dark horse in Stockholm.

Who will make it out next?

Astralis, BIG, MOUZ, Moviestar Riders, Heroic, and Spirit all remain as the final competitors in the Challengers Stage left. All of these teams have found some accolades in the past year of competition, but everything rides on how they perform tomorrow.

Astralis has recovered exceedingly well from their day one performance though their Danish counterparts in Heroic have continued to struggle. As it stands, Astralis and MOUZ seem the most likely to advance.
