VALORANT: Which agents to play on Haven

Regardless of attacking or defending, the key to winning in VALORANT is always knowing your way around the map. Only if you are familiar with all angles and possible positions will you be ready to handle all opponents.

So in order to pick the right Agent on Haven you first need to take a closer look at the map and familiarize yourself with its design:

Agents for Map Control on Haven

Map Control is always an important factor in VALORANT, but Haven really drives the point home. With many nooks and crannies as well as three entrances each to each of the three bombsites you need the control to know on which areas you actually need to focus on.

That makes the Guardian type of Agents a key component to your lineup. Cypher and Sage are almost must-picks on Haven. Sage can use her slow and barrier orbs to significantly delay or repel opposing pushes. As defender Sage should focus on B as she can quickly rotate towards A and B in case the support is necessary.

Cypher is also great at delaying enemy pushes. His tapwires can intercept attacks or lure opponents into traps. The spycam establishes map control and can give you valuable info on location and timing of attacks. Ideally you would want to play Cypher on A or C.

Agents for Vision and Engage

To prevent your opponents from outflanking you on Haven you really need to limit your enemy’s vision. Controller Agents are a great pick for that. Recently Omen has enjoyed quite a lot of popularity in that role. He can smoke off opponents but also use Dark Cover and Teleport to great effect on the sprawling map.

Another important part of the puzzle is a strong way to engage the opposing team. An agent like Sova can offer you the much needed offensive power. The archer is perfect to stablish info and vision with his Recon Bolts and Drone. Once you spot a weakness in the opposing side’s setup you can go in and exploit it.
