VALORANT: Riot to add in-game coaching slots for competitive play

Riot Games is planning to add coaching slots for competitive VALORANT to the popular FPS in the future following criticism.

The news got out through a tweet sent by Riley Yurk, the VALORANT Esports Strategy Manager, replying to a tweet by NRG coach Chet who detailed some of the improvements that should make their way to the game soon. “I hope it’s not a surprise but coach slots are on the way. We’re excited for coaches to be a bigger part of the matches.” Up until now, coaches had to watch the screens of their players, but that’ll soon be a thing of the past.

It’s interesting that VALORANT seems to be fully embracing coaching, especially following the recent community outrage that ensued over in the CS:GO scene. Valve made it known that they won’t be allowing (live) coaching during online matches anymore following an investigation into a coaching bug which was abused by many different coaches, with the coaches themselves responding that the decision to ban live coaching is not right, as their job is essential within a team.

The competitive VALORANT scene has been growing as of late as the VALORANT Champions Tour is in full swing. As Riot Games keeps addressing issues that pop up, the game seems to be in quite a healthy state.
