SK Gaming benches Tynx, Treatz to roleswap to jungler role

In a sudden roster swap, Treatz will move to the jungle as Tynx has been moved off the starting roster. Head Coach, Jesiz, will fill Treatz’s former support role.

SK Gaming has announced several sudden roster changes ahead of the LEC start date. In a recent Twitter video, SK Gaming announced that they did not expect to make this change but would help Tynx find a new team should that be of his interest. Now SK’s support, Treatz, will be the second player to roleswap to jungle going into the Summer Split.

In the announcement video, it was made clear that every member not only agreed to the removal of Tynx but supported Treatz’s roleswap. Sources have rumored that SK looked to recent free agent Gilius as a potential replacement, however the unfortunate timing and Gilius’ dedication to his personal improvement ended this possibility.

Perhaps of equal importance, head coach Jesiz will start for SK Gaming as their starting support. Formerly of Fnatic, Jesiz laned with Rekkles before moving into a coaching position in 2018. Since then, he has coached for Misfits, LDLC, and most recently SK Gaming. Now laning with Jezu, this will be Jesiz’s first time on a starting roster since 2017.

What exactly caused this roster mix up is unknown, however the cause seemingly came abruptly. Reaching playoffs last split with perhaps a surprisingly excellent regular season, SK Gaming will undoubtedly hope for better results despite their circumstances.
