Twitch bans director of strategic partnerships after sexual misconduct allegations

Twitch has decided to ban Hassan Bokhari, their director of strategic partnerships. Hassan had been under fire after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced back in June on multiple social media platforms, leading to Twitch taking action.

For a couple of months accusations regarding sexual misconduct have been surfacing around Hassan, even dating back multiple years. Among others, Twitch streamer “Vio” shared her story of Hassan abusing his power and him making unwanted sexual advances towards her. Despite not making a public statement, Twitch has now banned the Twitch account of Hassan following the situation.

A Twitch spokesperson did later release a statement on the ban to journalist Rod “Slasher” Breslau, talking about a possible investigation. “We take these accusations extremely seriously, and we engaged a reputable third party firm to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the allegations. While it is our policy to keep individual employment information confidential, the investigation has concluded and we have taken action in accordance with the investigators findings.” A source would later confirm to Slasher that Hassan was no longer employed at Twitch.

It’s not the first time Twitch has banned a partner streamer over allegations of sexual misconduct, as they also banned five partnered streamers back in June. “We are reviewing each case that has come to light as quickly as possible, while ensuring appropriate due diligence as we assess these serious allegations. We’ve prioritized the most severe cases and will begin issuing permanent suspensions in line with our findings immediately.” Twitch said.
