This is when you’ll get to play VALORANT’s deathmatch mode

It’s been a very long time coming, but Riot Games has announced we’ll finally be able to play the Free-For-All Deathmatch mode in VALORANT. They’ll be releasing a beta for the game mode on August 5, so you’ll be able to dive head-first into the action tomorrow.

The purpose of the Deathmatch mode is to give VALORANT players some more variety in gameplay, but it’s also a great way to warm up for you ranked matches. A Deathmatch mode had been requested by the VALORANT player base for quite a while and Riot Games promised to implement it in a developer blog about a month ago. A promise they’ve now honored.

In the Free-For-All VALORANT Deathmatch mode you’ll be facing other players with infinite credits in your pockets, giving you the opportunity to try out all the weapons you want. The player who is first to reach 30 kills in the lobby will be crowned the winner as the game ends. The match timer of the game mode will be set to six minutes, so games will be over fast and you won’t be stuck there for a long time (even though you can leave the game whenever you want, only forfeiting some XP), offering a more casual experience.

Respawn timers are set to three seconds, while enemies will show up on the map/radar every five seconds. Health packs will be dropping upon deaths to restore your health, giving players an incentive to run around the map and proactively hunt other players.
