The International 10 confirms two positive COVID cases

According to the Twitter account of The International 10, two people have tested positive for COVID-19. They’ll be isolated and further testing will be done to ensure nobody else is positive. The identity of the people involved wasn’t disclosed in the statement. “As part of our daily testing protocol, we have discovered two confirmed positive covid cases. As a result those individuals have been isolated.”

The positive cases seem to be a wake-up call for the tournament, as they’ve kicked their preventive measures into a higher gear as well, scaling up testing. “In addition, all who were contact traced to them in the past 5 days have also been isolated as a precaution. All members of the event continue to have daily testing, and we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of everyone participating in the event.”

The International 10 has had some bad luck in terms of COVID-19 this year, with the tournament also changing locations. Just a week before the tournament was set to start, 3 professional players tested positive for the virus, all from Team Aster. As a result the team was forced to isolate ahead of the event.
