Team Spirit completes amazing run and wins The International 10

Things didn’t start out all that great for Team Spirit. They ended up in fourth place in group B and were set to face Invictus Gaming in the first match of the Upper Bracket. After putting up a valiant effort, they fell down to the lower bracket in a 1-2 loss. Nobody would’ve expected however that this would be the start of one of the greatest lower bracket runs that competitive Dota 2 had ever seen.

As they dropped down to the lower bracket they went on to 2-0 both Fnatic and OG and secured themselves a clash with Virtus.Pro, which they also ended up winning 2-1. Next up was their revenge against Invictus Gaming, winning cleanly in a 2-0 victory. After defeating Team Secret in the Lower Bracket final, they looked in the eyes of PSG.LGD to win it all.

Starting off great, Team Spirit held of PSG.LGD in the first two games, with LGD struggling to adjust to Spirit’s playstyle as they scaled well and landed comfortable heroes. After a slugfest in game 3 and a swift second game where LGD dominated, it was all level. In the final game Team Spirit showed their teamfighting prowess, which overshadowed LGD’s individual lead, and snowballed them to victory.
