In an announcement Team Liquid welcomes Aerial Powers, former WNBA champion with the Washington Mystics, who will join the organization as a brand and diversity ambassador while also streaming for the team. Powers has also become a prominent gamer within the scene, recently organizing an all-women NBA 2K tournament.
Aside from serving as brand and diversity ambassador, Powers will head up the Team Liquid Diversity & Inclusion Task Force, which aims to encourage more diversity and inclusivity within the organization and the esports industry. It’s goal is also to encourage the next generation of women gamers.

Team Liquid co-CEO Steven Arhancet commented on Powers joining the Team Liquid brand. “She brings the same intensity and competitive drive that earned her a WNBA Championship to everything she does, including gaming — a mentality that makes her a perfect fit for Team Liquid’s winning culture.”
Powers herself also commented on her joining. ““Early last year, I had the privilege of playing in Team Liquid’s Valorant Pro-Am, which was an exciting introduction to the organization. Our relationship has continued to grow since then, a result of shared values and ambitions. I’m beyond eager to take this next step and collaborate with the organization to impact the culture.” Powers also has a popular Twitch channel where she plays both older and newer titles.
