Team Liquid Adds Jamppi To Their VALORANT Roster

Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen has become the most recent former CS pro to make the move to VALORANT by joining Team Liquid’s European roster.

Before the switch, Jampi was among the most promising upstarts in CS however due to his VAC ban in 2013 was unable to compete at any official events. After being dropped by ENCE for this reason, CS became a dead end for Jamppi which promoted his leap into VALORANT.

The addition of Jamppi into Team Liquid’s roster stands to shuffle the roles of the team across the board. Jamppi intends to take over the Jett Operator position which carries over from his time on ENCE as the primary AWPer. With the departure of Adam “ec1sL Eccles, the IGL position is projected to be taken up by Travis “L1NK” Mendoza who has similarly been a mainstay of the roster, even before they were acquired by Team Liquid and went by Fish123 during the beta.

Team Liquid has massively underperformed and struggled to keep up in the EU scene which has primarily been dominated by G2, FPX, and Team Heretics. The organization has yet to win a major tournament, coming in 5th – 8th during EU First Strike and failing to qualify for VCT Masters through both of the open qualifiers. Largely reliant on Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom’s clutch plays and incredible Reina performance, but with the addition of Jamppi Team Liquid hopes to add another win condition and hopefully takes the organization into the right direction.
