T1 has been one of the organizations that has been in the forefront when it comes to VALORANT, as they were one of the first organizations to assemble a full roster for the game. Now they’ve also picked up players to start an academy team.
The academy team of T1 was announced yesterday on their Twitter page, welcoming the four new players that’ll join the organization. These players are Kurtis “Kurt” Gallo, “Eeiu”, “Rara” and Haydin “ZerG” Gordon. Both Kurt and Zerg already competed in games such as Apex Legends, with the latter also having played Overwatch competitively for Fusion University at 14 years of age in 2018.

This brings T1’s total amount of signed players to nine as they started forming their VALORANT team in March with the addition of Braxton “brax” Pierce. He would later be joined by Kevin “AZK” Larivière, Austin “crashies” Roberts and Victor “food” Wong. The biggest signing made by T1 was undoubtedly former CS:GO player Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, who joined the organization at the start of this month.
T1 continues investing heavily in VALORANT, even though Riot Games has yet to unveil their plans for the competitive scene of the game. Other organizations seem to wait for more of those details, only picking up one or two players (in the case of 100 Thieves) or none at all. Most analysts and players expect Riot Games to run a competitive model similar to that of their other game, League of Legends.
