sOAZ looking to return as a player in the 2022 season

Paul “sOAZ” Boyer has been an near constant presence in the League of Legends esports scene since season one. Spending most of his career on Fnatic, sOAZ retired from competitive play in 2020. Since then, the French toplaner took up a coaching role for the ERL team LDLC. After a middling finish, sOAZ announced via Twitter that he intends to return onto an active roster on the player side.

In his announcement, sOAZ stated his high aspirations in returning as a player. His accolades already known to many, sOAZ stated that he aims to return to the LEC to make another run at Worlds.

sOAZ has had a storied career that will potentially see another chapter. His initial time with Fnatic saw most of his career success, winning four domestic titles and making four appearances at Worlds with the organization. In 2018, sOAZ left the roster as Gabriel “Bwipo” Rau took over as Fnatic’s starting toplaner.

Following his time on the failed Misfits super team, sOAZ made an unexpected jump to Immortals in the LCS. After only a year in North America, sOAZ made his switch to coaching.

The 2021 offseason has already seen a great deal of change. G2 dropped almost their entire roster with the exception of two players, Soren “Bjergsen” Bjergsen is reportedly coming out of retirement, and now sOAZ has entered the fray as well. Many teams will likely follow suite in making massive changes, but only time will tell if sOAZ’s return actually lands him on an LEC starting squad.
