Schalke 04 convincingly sweep Fnatic, eliminate them from LEC playoffs

Schalke 04 keeps up their recent level of play as they sweep Fnatic and eliminate them from contention in LEC playoffs.

While Fnatic has not found their form the entire season, they did beat SK Gaming in their first series last week and looked at least confident. Schalke 04 had the same swagger despite losing to G2 Esports, as they almost took them down. This match between the two would certainly be an interesting one with lots of fighting. That’s what we got but it isn’t the entire story.

Fnatic pulled out some unconventional picks, such as putting Bwipo on a Lulu top in their first game. While Upset had a decent game, both Bwipo and Nisqy struggled in lane, while Selfmade had his hands full with Gilius’ Udyr, eventually leading to a win for Schalke 04. In game 2 the off-meta picks continued, with Selfmade pulling out Lee Sin and Bwipo going Cho’Gath in the top lane, but it never paid off. The Schalke 04 Neon-LIMIT bot lane dominated.

In the third and final game Fnatic pulled out the Azir for nisqy, as Abbedagge picked up Corki. Fnatic kept forcing fights, which weren’t panning out for them almost the entire series. Eventually Schalke 04 picked up the pace and ended the game at 25 minutes. A painful loss for Fnatic, while Schalke 04 moves on to face Rogue.
