s1mple banned (yet again) on Twitch

CS:GO superstar s1mple has been banned for the fourth time on streaming platform Twitch. Once again he was sanctioned for using a slur.

Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is considered one of the greatest of all time in the world in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive but he is also known for being abrasive at times.

This has resulted in his fourth ban on Twitch.

What happened?

During a CS:GO match s1mple and one of his teammates get into an argument. In the resulting exchange s1mple got heated himself and answered insults with slurs from his side, which resulted in the ban.

Is the ban justified?

His prior bans all lasted seven days each. But Twitch’s policy is to sanction players harder if they continue to disregard their guidelines and might force s1mple to take a longer break.

Many of his fans believe, that the punishment does not correlate to the offense. Especially considering the various “fake” streams that impersonate s1mple on Twitch are often not banned as swift as s1mple was for his slur.

Those fake channels try to trick viewers with staged giveaways to access their victim’s Steam inventories. S1mple himself often receives messages of fans that fell victim to the scheme.
