Rumor: Flashpoint and Beyond The Summit to play host to first RMR events for Stockholm Major

According to Ryan of Rush B Media, Flashpoint and Beyond the Summit will host the first events to determine the RMR for the Stockholm Major.

The events will be used to make out the teams that will qualify for the upcoming CS:GO Major, which had been postponed ever since Valve decided to cancel the 2020 edition. The RMR system brings a big chance from how things were previously handled, where results and placements at the Major that came before it decided the teams that would be competing, with teams who played through qualifiers filling the other spots. The last Major already dates back to 2019, being StarLadder Berlin 2019, which was won by Astralis.

For Beyond the Summit and Flashpoint it won’t be their first rodeo. The former has organized tournaments in multiple games over the years, while Flashpoint is owned by FACEIT and has organized their own competition. As the competition has lost some of its prestige recently, organizing the RMR event could work out well for them.

When it comes to the dates for these events, it’s expected they’ll be played towards the end of May, which still gives teams ample time to prepare and get in form.
