Rumor: Ec1s will join 100 Thieves as VALORANT In-Game Leader

Several sources have reported that English VALORANT IGL, Ec1s, is set to join 100 Thieves ahead of the 2022 season. 100 Thieves began making sweeping roster changes near the beginning of its offseason. Dropping former IGL Steel and Nitr0, 100 Thieves are looking to fill out its remaining roster spots.

Many rumors reported that 100 Thieves were looking to acquire cNed following his World Championship win on Acend. Unfortunately for 100 Thieves, this deal seems that have fallen through which has led the organization to pursue other options. Ec1s will be among the first players to be ‘imported’ from another region.

Ec1s has consistently competed in the VALORANT esports scene since its inception. Beginning on Fish123, the IGL carried over with the team once it was initially acquired by Team Liquid. Finding only middling results, Ec1s was eventually replaced as the roster brought on Finnish prodigy and former CS:GO player Jamppi.

Spending some time on the bench, Ec1s eventually found a home at Ninjas In Pyjamas. On this roster, Ec1s only found middling results during his rather short stint. The organization dropped its entire VALORANT roster following the end of its 2022 season, relocating the VALORANT division’s placement to Brazil.

Though 100 Thieves managed to compete at the top of the North American ladder, and even represented NA at Masters Berlin, the team had a flat finish to 2021. Failing to qualify for VCT Champions after a loss to Cloud9 at the LCQ, 100 Thieves are looking for redemption in 2022 and to build off of its stable core.
