Rumor: Alphari and Perkz are considering options to play together for the 2022 season

Reports coming from esportsmanicos alleged that Luka “Perkz” Perkovic and Barney “Alphari” Morris are interesting in playing on the same team going into the 2022 season. Supposedly the two are weighing options in both the LEC and LEC.

Both players made the move from Europe to North America last offseason, as Cloud9 bought out Perkz and Team Liquid signed Alphari. The two clashed several times throughout the course of the season, most notably in the inaugural LCS Lock-In and Spring Split Finals.

The two cemented themselves as among the strongest solo laners in the LCS. Perkz and Alphari would undoubtedly be a massive asset to where ever they ended up. Both players are contracted until 2023, and their high buyouts could limit their potential options.

Sources have reported that Team Vitality in the LEC are among the leading options for the two. Given the import restrictions in North America as well as spending requirements may restrict options in the LCS to Cloud9 and Team Liquid.

The future of both players is uncertain as the offseason has yet to actually begin. Perkz and Alphari had good showings at Worlds 2021, Team Liquid barely failing to qualify in groups while Cloud9 dropped out in the Quarter-Finals.

As the trade window nears, it is likely that we will see at least one of these players move. Whether or not both end up on the same starting roster, whether that be in the LCS or LEC, remains to be seen.
