Riot Games reports that cheating in VALORANT has hit an all time low

In a recent update, VALORANT developers have reported that cheating rates are at all an all time low. Matt “K3o” Paoletti wrote that reports regarding cheating have continuously trended downward.

The anti-cheat team for VALORANT is still taking the issue very seriously despite the generally positive direction. K3o cites the global appeal of the game as drawing in cheaters from all corners. To combat this, K3o states that the team is planning on implementing new systems as well as making improvements to their Vanguard system.

VALORANT developers do not claim that all cheating has been banished from their game, as K3o goes on to state the specific state of competitive integrity. Hardware modifications are on the rise, providing unique forms of cheating outside of the typical aimbots and wall hacks.

Game Devs are working to tackle these ‘unique’ forms of hacking and ways of detecting external modifications. Despite the results that the anti-cheat team has found, they still encourage players to report potential cheating incidents as they happen. K3o states that “your reports also help us close the gaps in our investigative coverage, and help us discover new threats. Keep those coming.”

Cheating in popular titles has been a growing area of growth across games. Recently, Activision-Blizzard released Ricochet, a new anti-cheat software set to be used in both Warzone and Call of Duty Vanguard. While companies are expanding their anti-cheat efforts, most hope to emulate the success of VALORANT.
