Riot Games no longer working with caster “MiT” following allegations of sexual assault

Riot Games has confirmed they’ll no longer be working with Brazilian League of Legends caster Gabriel “MiT” Souza for the 2021 season. The decision was made following allegations of sexual assault against the Brazilian caster.

MiT has made a name for himself in the League of Legends scene as a coach, coaching teams such as Flamengo Esports and paiN Gaming before making the switch to casting. He recently came under fire after allegations made by tattoo artist Daniela Li, alleging sexual assault after she met MiT through dating app Tinder, six to seven years ago.

MiT reacts

After the news broke that Riot Games would distance themselves from MiT, he took to Twitter to release a statement on the situation. “I’m devastated and ashamed that I didn’t realize I was hurting someone and I don’t condone any form of abuse. I’ve evolved as a human being in the past year and I understand now there are no mitigating circumstances when it comes to these situations. […] In this statement I want to express my deepest regrets to everyone I hurt in my 29-year-old life, regardless of the magnitude.”

Riot Games will release an updated list of the casters for the CBLoL in the upcoming days, as MiT won’t be among those hired.
