Despite the League of Legends World Championship of 2021 taking place in Iceland, the theme of the merch Riot Games has launched is still centered around China, due to the sudden switch of venues and host. “While we are excited to be able to hold the League of Legends World Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland this year, due to the sudden location change, we were not able to produce a collection that would represent the new location.” You can find the merch on the lolesports website, here.
The developer will also be distributing the proceeds through the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, which means helping out some people by purchasing some of the merch. “Donations will directly support pandemic relief by giving doctors, nurses, and other frontline workers the resources they need to act quickly and protect those most vulnerable. Money raised will also provide critical financial aid to families and individuals who’ve been negatively impacted by the virus.”
The new merch line features a wide variety of items ranging from clothing to plushies. Examples are a Worlds 2021 Tibbers Plush, a MAKE/BREAK Zip-Up hoodie and different facial masks with either a floral design or one based on Baron Nashor. “Our Worlds 2021 collection features a variety of high quality merchandise that celebrates the largest esports competition in the world.”
