Rainbow Six Siege announces first transgender operator – Osa

Rainbow Six Siege is adding their new Agent, Osa, to the operator lineup.

Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 event, Crystal Guard has only begun and already a new Agent has been revealed in form of Osa. Earlier, Ubisoft confirmed to various sources that Osa will be the first transgender operator added to the Rainbow Six Siege lineup. This aspect of her character was not mentioned until her background information was revealed, stating Osa “found herself isolated due to her unorthodox approach and other’s attitudes towards her transition.”

Recent interviews with Ubisoft have stated that Osa’s inclusion is a part of their ongoing efforts to “have an inclusive roster of Operators.” Osa was both written and voiced by trans women to ensure the authenticity of the character and place in the overall Siege universe.

Osa will be the third new Operator added since the start of Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 6 content, as both Flores and Thunderbird were added before her. Osa’s unique ability are tactical robotic shields, the Talon-8 Clear Shield, which can be used to give teammate an added layer of protection.

Osa will be added when the Crystal Guard update goes live on Rainbox Six Siege’s test server on August 17th. Along with Osa’s release will be the reworked maps, Bank, Club, and Coastline.
