PUBG announces futuristic Battle Royale spin-off New State

PUBG has announced a brand new spin-off which will be only on mobile called PUBG: New State, a futuristic Battle Royale.

The new game will be set in the year 2051 and also features a brand new map called Troi. The mobile game has seemingly taken inspiration from other Battle Royale games that operate in a more modern environment, such as Warzone, Apex Legends and Hyperscape. There won’t be a lot of changes to the traditional Battle Royale format, however.

Just like in the traditional PUBG game (give or take some tweaks), players can upgrade their weapons using certain attachments, allowing them to expand things like magazine size or ensure their weapon has a better optic sight attached. PUBG: New State is the third game in the franchise alongside the traditional PUBG game and PUBG: Mobile which was developed by Tencent, while New State was made by PUBG Studio.

With PUBG: New State, the developer wants to push the visual capabilities of mobile games to the next level. “New State offers graphics that surpass the standard of mobile games with Global Illumination Technology. Drop into massive open worlds that feature the most realistic graphics available for mobile gaming. With next-generation mobile graphics, PUBG: New State delivers the full battle royale experience straight into players’ hands.

The game is said to launch later this year and alpha tests for New State will be coming soon.
