PS5-preorder shitstorm: Sony apologizes

Sony apologized for providing not enough PlayStation 5 consoles for preorder. New supplies should follow in the next few days.

In just a few hours after the preorders were opened, the first charge of PlayStation 5s was sold out already. After the price and release date announcement last wednesday many Sony enthusiasts bought the next-gen console.

Because of the small amount of available consoles that Sony has not disclosed in detail, many potential customers got the short end of the stick. That sparked outrage all over social media. On saturday, Sony apologized:” Let’s be honest: PS5 preorders could have been a lot smoother. We truly apologize for that.”

Many people complain about people being able to order more than one console. Some are using that to their advantage to resell them on Ebay for a quick buck. According to Sony, they are working on restocking retailers as soon as possible.

The PS5 will release on November 12th in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The rest of the world will have to wait a week longer.
