Ppd set to return to competitive Dota 2

Even though he decided to retire back in April 2020, Peter “ppd” Dager is looking to make his return to competitive Dota 2. He announced his return through a statement he shared on the WePlay esports blog, talking about his initial decision to retire and why he has now returned ahead of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021.

The 29-year old has a long-standing relationship with DOTA 2, starting all the way back in 2013. Dager played for multiple teams throughout his career, most notably Evil Geniuses with whom he won The International in 2015, but also WanteD, OpTic Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Getting into streaming

After retiring, Dager first lost interest in Dota. “During the first month home, I didn’t touch Dota. It was nice to take a break; as much as I love the game, it’s way too easy to get too caught up in it.” After thinking about his future, ppd explored streaming. “Streaming was my decision, and I’ve been pretty good about streaming 6 days a week with a minimum of 5 hours a day.”

Back to competing

Still, ppd missed competing. “I think it’s safe to say this isn’t what I’m most passionate about and now I realize that competition is the thing that inspires me to be the best version of myself. After three months of this, I’ve decided that I need to change my focus again.” Ppd goes on to say he’ll be competing with Fear, DNM, Moo and Sneyking in S A D B O Y S.
