Players discover way to pause Elden Ring

Elden Ring doesn’t have a way to pause the game, as time in the open world marches on. Now some players claim to have found a way to pause the game anyway and work around it. Pulling it off however isn’t as easy as just pressing a button however and includes some steps you’ll have to follow, if you even wanted to pause the game.

Pausing the game involves opening up your menu as soon as you want to pause by pressing Start or Help. This can be done when just traversing the world or in the middle of combat. Take note that you’ll still be vulnerable for a brief moment though. Afterwards quickly navigate to the Menu Explanation, which will pause the game once you’re in. You can pause the game for as long as you want this way.

Also take note of the fact this won’t work during multiplayer, when you’ve got allies with you or when you’re being chased by an invader. While the developers obviously didn’t mean for this to be abused, it might still be a way to save you (and your run) in a moment of need when you need to figure things out for a bit.
