Over 1000 employees condemn Activision Blizzard’s response to allegations

Over 1000 employees of Activision Blizzard signed an open letter condemning the way the company has handled the most recent allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination.

The employees drafted up the letter to the management of Activision Blizzard and went on to gather up signatures, with it eventually being sent over to the company. “To put it clearly and unequivocally, our values as employees are not accurately reflected in the words and actions of our leadership. We believe these statements have damaged our ongoing quest for equality inside and outside of our industry.”

In the letter the employees talk about the nature of the allegations and how Activision Blizzard is putting down victims in their most recent statement. “Categorizing the claims that have been made as “distorted, and in many cases false” creates a company atmosphere that disbelieves victims. It also casts doubt on our organizations’ ability to hold abusers accountable for their actions and foster a safe environment for victims to come forward in the future.“

As of today the number of signatures behind the open letter continues to rise as more employees are getting behind it. Former employees of the company are also allowed to sign in support. So far Activision Blizzard hasn’t come out with a statement on the open letter and hasn’t reacted to it yet.
