OG reportedly plans on releasing NBK

After failing to win a single series in the BLAST Spring Groups stage and being knocked out of IEM Katowice similarly winless, OG is reportedly planning to drop Nathan “NBK” Schmitt from their roster.

OG has suffered massively since entering the online CS era as they have fallen from 6th to 12th in the HLTV World Rankings and have yet to make it to a final since Flashpoint 2 in November. NBK and Issa “ISSAA” Murad have been the primary targets of fans and analysts ire as both have posted record low stats in the past months. ISSAA’s issues primarily have revolved around his high ping due to remote play. IGL Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen stated that OG plans on retaining ISSAA in hopes that CS returns to LAN soon as he has proved to be “a ‘glue’ on LAN.”

NBK’s poor performance was largely independent of ping issues. During OG’s short run at IEM Katowice, NBK heralded one of the lowest overall playing ratings (0.88), a 62% KAST (Kill/Assist/Survive/Trade Percentage), and .73 deaths per round. Aside from this, VaKarM.net reported this decision had been in talks for a while as a difference in-game philosophy existed between NBK and the rest of the team.

NBK’s replacement has yet to be revealed as OG is currently scouting and trying out benched players and recently made free agents. With teams like North, Envy, Gen.G, and more disbanding there has been a sudden influx of free agents entering the market that OG could pull from to fill their 5th man void.
