Official: CDL is returning to LAN for the fourth Major

The Call of Duty League will be making a return to LAN as the dates and location for the fourth Major have been announced.

Fans have been treated to a lot of online Call of Duty the past year as the COVID-19 situation. The last offline event even dates back to March 2020, which was hosted by L.A. Guerrillas and OpTic Gaming. Rumors had already surfaced alongside some more positive messages that the CDL would be returning to LAN soon and now that news has been confirmed in a statement made by the CDL itself.

The first offline event, the fourth Major, will be hosted by Dallas Empire on June 17-20. The CDL will be taking additional measures to ensure everyone’s safety. “As part of our initial return to live events, Major IV will adhere to strict League health and safety protocols and attendance will be limited to players in the League as well as limited Call of Duty League and team staff. Attendees will follow strict COVID-19 protocols, including Rapid Response testing throughout the event.“

Alongside a return to LAN, the CDL also spoke on a move to a four-day schedule for the third Major. “Beginning next week for Major III, the Call of Duty League will also be moving to a four-day schedule. Instead of starting on Wednesday, Major III will start on Thursday, May 13 at 12PM PT/3PM ET. This new tournament schedule will feature four matches on Thursday and Friday, five matches on Saturday, and then three matches on Sunday. In addition, each day will end with a Winners Bracket match.”
