The highly anticipated CS:GO prodigy, oBo, is making his second foray into the scene but this time with Evil Geniuses.
Evil Geniuses have found a quick replacement Ethan “Ethan” Arnold after his departure only days ago to join 100 Thieves’ VALORANT roster. 17-year-old CS:GO pro Owen “oBo” Schlatter will fill the vacant spot for the North American organization.
oBo is returning to competitive play after a six-month hiatus as a free agent following his sudden leave from Complexity. oBo stated that his trip to Europe under the Complexity banner saw “undesirable” playing conditions and that the organization showed no intentions of returning to North America, which prompted oBo’s departure. This stands true, as Complexity has not exited the European scene since entering and has transitioned into a majority EU roster with only Will “RUSH” Wierzba remaining from the original roster.
Despite this, oBo has stated that he is still willing to travel to Europe for another extended trip. This certainly seems to be a good fit for Obo and EG. While the organization has primarily competed in Europe since the start of the online era, they have still affirmed themselves as a North American team and made occasional trips back to the region.
Now with a completed roster, Evil Geniuses will debut their new lineup in the ESL Pro League Season 13 on March 8th. In a group with the IEM Katowice 2021 finalists, Virtus.pro, as well as the likes of Astralis, Team Liquid, and Fnatic, this new iteration of the team has a difficult task before them and will be tested from day one.
