NuckleDu retires after car crash, leaves social media

Du “NuckleDu” Dang won’t be competing in Street Fighter anymore following a car crash he was involved in. He released a statement on Twitter talking about his retirement.

After reports came out that NuckleDu was involved in a car crash, his Twitter page remained silent up until today. NuckleDu then tweeted out he was quitting competitive Street Fighter. “I will be putting my controller down now. Furthermore, I will step away from social media in general since I can’t offer you guys anything anymore. Life is short and unforgiving. Call loved ones, make amends, go outside and don’t let social media consume you. Take care.”

It’s not the first time NuckleDu has been involved in a car accident, as he still suffered from injuries to his back after a crash in 2016. As of today we still don’t know anything about the injuries NuckleDu has suffered from the recent crash, but according to a tweet by Kevin Barrios following the accident NuckleDu “received the necessary treatment and will make a long but full recovery”.

NuckleDu had a long career in Street Fighter, spanning 8 years in total. He played for teams such as Echo Fox, Team Liquid, Team Curse and Ghost Gaming. NuckleDu first became known for his play on Guile, which he used aggressively instead of defensively. He was always a well-loved competitor for the big and risky plays he would often go for.
