No sequel for Among Us, devs to keep working on original game

Some time ago, the developers behind the insanely popular game Among Us revealed they would be working on a sequel to the game. With Among Us having become increasingly popular over the summer, the developers have now decided to keep adding content to the original game instead of making a sequel.

InnerSloth talked about the decision in a blog post posted to their website, explaining why they will not be making a sequel. “The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content. However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level.”

After talking about their decision about the sequel, the developers also revealed some things that are on the horizon for Among Us. This includes working on the current servers to make them more stable, adding colorblind support, adding a friends/account system to make playing together even more convenient and designing new stages.

InnerSloth thanked their players and fans for sticking with the game and enjoying it so much, promising to get new content out soon. ”Thank you so much for bearing with us through these growing pains. Hopefully we can get started on new content soon! “
