Nickmercs possibly leaving to YouTube

The streaming war between YouTube and Twitch has only continued to heat up in recent months, with YouTube making strides as a streaming platform. Twitch has continuously lured in streaming personalities with massive followings. Streamers that have made the switch from Twitch to YouTube include DrDisrespect, CouRage, DrLupo, and most recently TimTheTatman.

Not only has YouTube taken some of Twitch’s biggest personalities, but it has also made its platform far more ‘twitch-like.’ This includes more emote functionality, a theater mode for mobile, and other related features. This all ultimately works in simulating a more familiar streaming experience.

Rumors have swirled that Nick “NickMercs” Kolcheff will be the latest streamer to make the switch. NickMercs has been absent from Twitch since September 23rd and has given no idea as to when he could return. In 2019, during the height of the streaming war between Twitch and Mixer, NickMercs solidified himself as a Twitch streamer. Now, Nick’s exclusive contract with Twitch has expired, and his hiatus from the platform could be telling.

Along with this, NickMercs posted an ominous message regarding his return. Now signed with FaZe, Nick assured his fans that he was still active in creating content. Nick implied that after a short break, he would return with a big announcement. Naturally, the minds of fans have went to platform switch. Nick has always been a prominent name in the battle royale scene, and with so many of his contemporaries already on YouTube it is only natural that NickMercs may follow.
