NICKMECS to host a $50,000 Apex Legends tournament

The popular Twitch steamer NICKMERCS announced today that he is set to host a $50,000 Apex Legends tournament later this month. This will not be NICKMERCS’ first tournament, as he has run esports events in Call of Duty Warzone.

The MFAM tournament will have two qualifiers leading up to the main event. The first qualifier will be hosted on Friday, October 22nd. Four lobbies will host 20 teams each, and the top 5 teams will advance to the second round after 3 games. The top 2 teams from this group will move on to qualify for the main event.

The prize pool will be distributed throughout the tournament. The first place team from the qualifiers earn $4,750 while remaining teams will win from the $2,400 to $150 range. Teams will earn points from placing, with kills adding extra points.

The second qualifier is set to take place on October 26th with the main event slated to occur only a day after, on the 27th.

The tournament host, NICKMERCS, has made waves as a content creator in the past few months. Though many speculated he would be the latest streamer to move to YouTube, NICKMERCS resigned with Twitch. Alongside this, Nick also became a content creator and part owner of FaZe Clan.

NICKMERCS also appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated and became an sponsored Under Armor athlete. This tournament is just one of many feats that the streamer has achieved in the past year.
