Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare enter their fifth season next week and we’ve got some new information. Among other things, the August 5 release date was confirmed by Activision, as well as the release of a new faction called Shadow Company.
To reveal the new faction, Activision released a short teaser trailer on their YouTube channel. The Shadow Faction is a throwback to fan-favorite Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, where the Shadow Company was a group of mercenaries with general Shepherd at the helm of it. With the the release of the new faction the game will also see three new operators, while Verdansk will also get a train that circles the map filled to the brim with loot.

Activision also released a blog post regarding the introduction of the new Shadow Company faction, with more information about the faction itself as well as the operators. These operators are Rozlin “Roze” Helms, the elusive and mysterious Velikan and the leader of the Company Marcus “Lerch” Ortega. The Shadow Company will look to disrupt Verdansk starting August 5.
In other news it’s also expected that the new Call of Duty title will be confirmed during season 5, most likely being Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. To close out the announcements Infinity Ward disclosed they’ll be cracking down on hackers even more, dealing out more severe punishments to offenders who ruin the experience for others.
