New League of Legends champion possibly teased by Riot – called ‘Akshan’?

We might have gotten our first glimpse of the newest League of Legends champion, as Riot released a web-puzzle that shows a new figure when solved.

When the web-puzzle is solved, a piece of art is shown which features current champions such as Lucian, Senna, Viego, Thresh, Graves and Gwen, but also shows a completely new champion. The champion seems to be holding a weapon that looks like a grappling gun, while holding onto what seems to be a whip. As the puzzle namedrops ‘Akshan’ and the name is the final password, fans seem to think this’ll be the name of the champion.

When it comes to his abilities, it’s likely the champion will be using his whip and grappling hook to full effect, most likely featuring ranged attacks based on light, similar to Senna and Lucian. He’ll be a marksman that’s designed for the mid lane that’ll be appealing to skirmishers and assassin players, featuring unique roaming patterns.

The puzzle also focuses on the Sentinels of Light and reveals a date, being July 8 to August 10, which is most likely the runtime of a new event. It’s currently unclear yet when the new champion will be released into the game, but it’s expected that Riot will be showing more of his abilities in the upcoming weeks.
