Nemesis shows how much the damage levels have changed in League – calls Season 12 “crazy” high-damage meta

Former pro player Tim ‘Nemesis’ Lipovšek gave his thoughts on the way League of Legends has changed the damage output throughout the game’s lifespan.

“It’s crazy how much damage there is in the game now compared to old seasons.”

The ex-MAD Lions and Fnatic mid laner, who’s now a streamer for Gen.G isn’t the first former pro to weigh in on the power creep debate. Doublelift saw the damage output and healing as the biggest issue in the current iteration of League of Legends, even before Season 12 hit the servers.

The debate this has sparked throughout the community is so widespread and passionate that even Riot Games has commented on the issue at hand, recognizing the community’s fear is warranted but also tempering the hope that big changes are coming soon.

Nemesis used an old clip from a few seasons ago to highlight the massive changes the power creep has brought. The clip in question shows a Veigar engaging an Olaf in a 1v1 on the top lane. Despite having items that would instantly kill the Veigar in Season 12, the Olaf player deals hardly any damage.

“If this is me on Veigar right now, in Season 12, and this Olaf walks into me, I’m dead. I’m literally f**king dead.”

“Look, he has Steraks and Black Clever, with the same items (now) I’d be so dead immediately. But look, he’s dealing no damage. Which is my point that it’s crazy how much damage there is in the game now compared to old seasons.”

Subreddit r/leagueoflegends was quick to share Nemesis’ clip, where it held the number one spot quite some time.
