Natus Vincere punched its ticket to the lower bracket finals where the CIS squad will once again face Team Vitality in an elimination game. Na’Vi gained the opportunity to fight for yet another finals appearance after defeating Team Liquid in a 2-0 sweep. Redeeming themselves against the very team that knocked them into the lower bracket, Na’Vi kept their run alive.
Na’Vi get vengeance on Team Liquid
Many doubted the longevity of Na’Vi’s reign of dominance following its loss to the only North American representatives at the BLAST Premier World Final. Meeting Team Liquid once again, this time the CIS superstars came out on top with a clean sweep.
Team Liquid led at the half of the first map of Dust2, though ultimately fell after Na’Vi’s ten round run to end the map 16-10. Liquid had only a marginally better performance on Inferno (16-11) though it was not enough to push the series to a third game. The ever performing superstar S1mple took control early in the series. By the series end, S1mple found 55 total frags, 99.6 ADR, and 1.65 overall rating.
Can Na’Vi make another finals appearance?
Na’Vi is facing a familiar opponent in Vitality. Though the French AWPer, ZywOo, has often downplayed his rivalry with S1mple, it is difficult not to compare the two star fraggers before their impending clash again. In recent history, Na’Vi have been able to navigate their French adversaries. Given that Na’Vi were able to resurge after its initial loss, it certainly seems that Na’Vi are bound to make another finals appearance against Gambit.
