Mousesports and Karrigan might be parting ways

According to reports by both HLTV and 1pv.fr, Finn “karrigan” Andersen and organization mousesports might be parting ways. The Danish IGL might be exploring other options as his contract with mousesports will end in March and current negotiations haven’t resulted in a new contract.

Mousesports has confirmed they’re looking at possible replacements for karrigan’s position. The news breaks after his former team FaZe Clan was reportedly interested in signing the Danish IGL, which might play a part in his possible decision to test free agency. Karrigan has been a part of mousesports since March 2019 when the roster was being rebuilt around Robin “ropz” Kool and Chris “chrisJ” de Jong.

Return to form

Under Karrigan, mousesports returned to form, breaking into the top 10 best CS:GO teams in the ranking. With mousesports he won the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, defeating Fnatic with a convincing 3-0 score in the Grand Final, and the CS:GO Asia Championships 2019 where they beat ENCE.

During 2020, mousesports struggled more after finishing in second place in the ESL Pro League season 11 and slumped throughout the year. In September, Özgür “woxic” Eker left mousesports to play in Cloud9’s revamped CS:GO team. Towards the end of the year mousesports regained their form with strong performances at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, which they won after defeating Cloud9, and a strong showing at the DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 Europe, losing out to Astralis.
