MAD Lions ‘owner’ criticizes ADC Carzzy, faces backlash

After the match Luis Miguel “Revenant” Amor Velarde took to Twitter to voice his opinion on MAD Lions’ performance, praising Elyoya and Kaiser but being very critical of ADC Carzzy. He doubled down on his opinion but has since deleted the tweet. “In my opinion we should make Flakked the starting ADC in the LEC team and remove Carzzy. I don’t think Carzzy is very good or at his best level.”

The statements led to a lot of League of Legends personalities and casters defending Carzzy and MAD Lions’ performance at Worlds, with Carzzy himself reacting to the tweets with a simple “lol”, only to follow up on it later. “It doesn’t matter what someone who doesn’t have a single clue about the game says, I am not going to feel down, because someone such as Revenant said something like this. Just stay happy. Don’t let other people get you down. I love MAD.”

Eventually MAD Lions themselves released a statement on the situation, clarifying Revenant’s situation as an owner, saying he’s misleading and does not speak for management nor the ownership group. One of our content providers is misleading. He is not part of the ownership group or management and does not speak for MD Lions or OverActive Media. We count on our partners to work collaboratively with us and share our disappointment around Revenant’s comments with our fans.”
