In the elimination round of the Worlds Play-In stage MAD Lions took on SuperMassive Esports for a spot in the qualification round against Unicorns of Love. In the other match of the day, Rainbow7 faced off against LGD Gaming with the winner moving on to a best-of-five against Legacy Esports.
Things started off with the match between Rainbow7, who finished in third place during the group stage of group B, and the underperforming LGD Gaming who struggled to find their rhythm and finished fourth. In the end LGD Gaming beat out Rainbow7 with a 3-0 score, again reinforcing their strength as a team that thrives in longer series. Jungler Han “Peanut” Wang-ho looked a lot better this time around. They move on to a confrontation with Legacy Esports tomorrow.
Our #Worlds2020 run ends with our loss to @supmass. Thank you to all of the fans that supported us through our first year in the @LEC.
We started the year with 4 rookies, and they made it all the way to Shanghai when no one expected them to. We’ll be back again in 2021! #goMAD pic.twitter.com/1uclH9QllV

The match between MAD Lions and SuperMassive turned out to be a lot more tense, trading games until SuperMassive eventually took game 5 and eliminated MAD Lions. Once again SuperMassive showed impressive jungling from Lee “KaKAO” Byung-Kwon, which Zhiqiang “Shad0w” Zhao mostly struggled to match on the side of MAD Lions even though MAD mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Bràzda had some strong showings.
The Worlds 2020 Play-In Stage now moves on to the ultimate qualification round tomorrow with the winners moving on to the Main Event group stage. The day will start with the series between Legacy Esports and LGD Gaming, followed by Unicorns of Love taking on SuperMassive.
