Update: Ludwig’s YouTube ban revoked, video to receive age restriction

After Ludwig announced on his Twitter page that his YouTube channel was banned, Team YouTube responded to the situation.

After first sending the video over to their team, YouTube then proceeded to say that the video that caused the ban was reinstated, alongside with an age restriction. ”Following up – we heard back from our team and your video has been reinstated with age restriction. You should be able to continue uploading videos, let us know if you’re seeing otherwise.”

YouTube’s response garnered quite a bit of criticism on Twitter, with some people pointing that out that Ludwig had to publicly tweet out what was happening before YouTube actually fixed the issue. Another problem some people pose is that big content creators often get a response if they make enough noise, while smaller creators are often ignored. For now Ludwig can go back to uploading videos to his YouTube channel, but his streak of uploading has been irreparably broken.

One of the biggest Twitch streamers and content creators right now, Ludwig Ahgren, saw his YouTube account banned for a week, ending his upload streak.

Ludwig took to Twitter to explain the situation after receiving a ban on YouTube after one of his most recent videos got flagged for ‘child safety’. “I’ve just got banned on YouTube for a week after a video got flagged for “child safety”. This means the end of my 618 day upload streak. The first time I won’t upload a video in almost 2 years. It’s a sad day.”

Fans weren’t happy with YouTube’s decision to ban Ludwig’s account and promptly starting tweeting at YouTube with the hashtag #FreeLudwig, trying to get his account unbanned. His insane 618-days upload streak will however not be able to continue, even if his account gets unbanned on time. Ludwig has over 1.7 million subscribers on the platform as of the time of writing.

Ludwig, then already one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, gained even more fame during his ‘subathon’, where he was live for over a month aided by subscriptions given to him by his fans and viewers, helping break the record of most subscribers which was held by other gaming phenomenon Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. He currently has 2.8 million followers on Twitch.
