G2 have announced another role swap coming for the Summer Split and Worlds later in the year. After playing the Spring Split with Luka “Perkz” Perković as midlaner and Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther in the botlane, Europe’s superstars will return to their 2019 roles.
We were very close to sending Wunder to botlane but we decided to run it back with our 2019 roster for summer/worlds
having the two best western mids and ads in the same team sure gives some headaches 🤡

After successfully defending their title in the Spring Split G2 has decided to tinker and finetune their roster again. Although they stand on top of Europe yet again, the roleswap had been under close scrutiny of fans and experts alike. Perkz did well acclimating to the midlane but Caps visibly struggled.
Repeatedly getting caught out or dying as he overextended the Danish superstar looked uncomfortable. Especially after their shock loss to MAD Lions in the first round of the LEC playoffs the roleswap was questioned. With the Spring Split Championship secured after Caps returned to form for the remainder of the playoffs, G2 have decided that their old roles offered a better shot at the Summer Split and ultimately the Worlds trophy.
We had a fun split playing with this roster but say goodbye to

Although the experiment has now been ended, the swap had shown that G2 might just be able to pull off switching Perkz’ and Caps’ roles around mid-series. Maybe we will see a surprise return of a switch as ace up G2’s sleeve.
