Liquid upset NAVI at BLAST Premier Global Final 2020

Team Liquid have beaten NAVI at the BLAST Premier Global Final 2020, where the organization played their first series with newcomer Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo on their roster. All the Upper Bracket semi final matches are now known and we saw a first team leaving the tournament after a lower bracket loss.

Team Liquid played very convincingly against NAVI, absolutely dominating Inferno. In the first half Team Liquid already secured a 12-3 lead over NAVI, closing it out with a 16-6 scoreline. Nuke was a closer affair due to a late comeback by NAVI after another hot start by Liquid, but Liquid came out on top with a 16-14 finish. Standout player for Liquid was Keth “NAF” Markovic. FalleN also showed up and pulled off a 1v3 clutch on Nuke to give Liquid the lead.

In the other matches Team Vitality had no problems with Complexity, sending them to the lower bracket with 16-9 (Mirage) and 16-8 (Dust II). Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom subbed in for Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier for Dust II. In the lower bracket FURIA got eliminated following a series against Evil Geniuses despite winning the first map (Inferno). A disappointing finish for FURIA, who have been showing their strength and growth over the past few months.

In the lower bracket Complexity will face NAVI later today, while we see Astralis taking on G2 Esports and Team Vitality playing Liquid in the Upper bracket semifinals.
