LEC: SK Gaming extend winning streak, Fnatic bounce back against Astralis

In the first day of LEC week 6, MAD Lions found themselves struggling against SK Gaming, while Fnatic was able to start out with a win after a troubled week.

SK Gaming has been on the rise as of late, as they look to challenge the top teams in the LEC. MAD Lions was the ideal candidate to prove their worth against, as they went on to defeat them after a rather back-and-forth game. While SK Gaming found themselves in the lead through some great plays by jungler Tynx and a strong performance by top and bot laner Jenax and Jezu, they struggled putting the nail into the coffin, but eventually managed after a devastating teamfight in mid lane, extending their win streak to 4.

Fnatic was back to their usual selves against Astralis, showing up with an aggressive solo queue composition. Despite a strong performance by Astralis bot laner Jeskla on Caitlyn, they fell to another great showing of Fnatic jungler Selfmade on Graves. Upset also enjoyed a solid albeit quiet game on the Kai’Sa alongside a struggling Hylissang. It’s an important win for Fnatic, who needed to shape up after a bad run in week 5.

In other matches Misfits Gaming took the game over Excel, with the former looking to make up some wins as their playoff chances narrow. Team Vitality lost out to an efficient G2 Esports, who were able to shut down the Jinx bot lane of Crownshot. Finally, Rogue managed a win over Schalke 04 in a relatively closely contested match, where the former did have the upper hand over most of the match.
